Physical Education

Tile Hill Wood is committed to ensuring that every child spends a minimum of 2 hours a week on high quality physical education and school sport, within and beyond the curriculum.

The school is situated in the south-west of Coventry close to the University of Warwick. It is fortunate to be sited in 27 acres of land with extensive playing fields, meadows and a rich natural habitat.

All children and young people have the right to be healthy, happy and safe; to be loved, valued and respected; and to have high aspirations for their future. Every child matters and every child has the right to enjoy and participate in high quality physical education and school sport, regardless of their age, ability, and background.

At key stage 3, each child will be taught; athletics, fitness, gymnastics, orienteering, swimming, basketball, football, netball, rounders and tennis.

At key stage four, each child will be taught; badminton, golf, trampolining, games and will participate in fitness - which consists of the fitness suite, step, pilates and yoga. There are also the options of Junior Sports Leaders Award, GCSE PE and Duke of Edinburgh Award (extra curricular) in this key stage.
