Sportsmark

Tile Hill Wood is proud to be accredited with the Sportmark award

"Sportsmark is Sport England's accreditation scheme for secondary schools.
It is a developmental and auditing tool that rewards and recognises a school for
its out of hours sports provision and a broad and balanced PE curriculum."

There is a mixture of team and individual sports with opportunities in each for participation in clubs, practices or competitive matches against other schools.  For students more interested in exercise rather than competition there are opportunities in Aerobics, trampolining, lifeguarding, step, dance and swimming. 

The school has an excellent record in competitive sport against other schools locally, regionally and nationally in hockey, netball, rounders, tennis, cross country athletics, basket ball, football. There is also a thriving Environment Club which takes advantage of the extensive school site, as well as extra curricular activities in Science, MFL and ICT.

Arts

Extensive opportunities exist to take part in dramatic productions, musicals, bands. choirs, ensembles, dance productions and Drama classes. The school collaborates with Woodlands to put on an annual drama or show. The school has also achieved the prestigious Artsmark Gold Award.

Study

opportunities exist before and after school to support work in the classroom. The Library is open from 8.00 in the morning and after school.  This gives students access to computer facilities as well as other learning resources.
