Business Studies

The department offers a broad range of courses to suit the needs of all learners at both Key Stage Four and Post-16. Students perform well within the subject through the specialist teaching offered, and the potential for students to match the appropriate course to their own needs.

In 2006, at KS4 on average our pupils achieved half a grade higher than their predicted grade, with this success replicated at A-Level. A range of effective teaching resources, along with educational visits and speakers are used to ensure that pupils find the subject engaging and relevant.

The department has grown in recent years to reflect the growing importance of Business Studies in education, and the recognition of the skills that it brings which are sought after by employers.

We carry out a range of enterprise activities both as separate events and across other subjects. We also offer the young enterprise programme as an extension for our gifted and talented students, which has seen great success since its launch this year.
